III. Entry requirement
In order to register and sit for the CFA exams, candidate must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree
- Be in the final year of a bachelor’s degree program
- Have four years of qualified, professional work experience (non-investment related experience is also acceptable)
- Have a combination of work and college experience that totals at least four years.
- The four-year combined work and college experience must be obtained prior to exam registration.

VI. Fees and Cost
Registration costs vary depending on when you decide to register for the exam. Please note, there is a one-time enrolment fee of USD 350 the first time you register for the Level 1 exam. Take care when scheduling your computer-based exam appointment, as there is a USD 250 rescheduling fee if you wish to reschedule your exam appointment in your exam window.
VII. Exam details
Passing the three exams marks true mastery of the curriculum and is the most important task required to earn the CFA® charter. On average, candidates report investing over 300 hours of study in advance of successfully passing each level.
